- nodes overlap; they should be spaced so that all are legible
- when you enter an email address in the "email" field, it doesn't save
- no one was able to add more than one link to the same node; we need to check to make sure that's possible
- "Tufts University" first appears on the list of nodes to which other nodes can be linked, but it disappears sometimes. Not sure why.
- there should be a space to enter a URL for an organization
- we like the idea of colored circles--different colors for organizations, issues, and people

bugs and issues with the map
Please reply with any problems you have using the map or suggestions for changing it. These are issues I'm aware of:

it seems like there are also too many lines criss-crossing here and there which makes it really confusing. maybe if there was something like the map where we saw last time where when u click on a certain node, the connections to it also light up, so that there aren't several lines inter-twined on the same map. it would just make it a little more organized and less hectic looking.

ReplyDeleteWhen there are more than 20 nodes, they are displayed on separate pages of 20 each. But when you click to see next page, the node you are looking for can vanish.
When you click to hide "organizations," the nodes and links disappear but the names of the organizations remain in view.
Some names on the map appear in bold, randomly
Zip codes turn into emails.
The list of nodes that can be linked includes all the nodes from the main Boston map. (This may be OK.) It starts over with a new alphabetical ordering when the Somerville nodes begin.
Suggestions:
Add a space for "primary interests"
Provide a drop-down menu of tags that have been used already.
Finding nodes on the very long list is hard; we need categories
It would be nice to have a graphical interface for linking nodes.
When looking at the list of nodes, we should be able to see what each one is (more info should be provided.) There could be a separate list of nodes next to the map.
More info should be shown when you hover over a node.
Can we move nodes around?
